It is hard to fully appreciate how children must feel when they first go to a counselor. This book, written from the point of view of a child, can make it easier for children to understand what typically happens in a counselor’s office. The child in the story is referred for counseling because of his behavioral problems, and although he doesn’t want to see the counselor, he quickly learns the value of having a special listening friend. Great illustrations. Ages 5 and up.
