Crisis Conversations: A Problem-Solving Convening

This program has been designed for a general audience and will include keynote speakers and breakout sessions exploring and identifying barriers to accessing appropriate mental health care for those living with serious mental health conditions.  The sessions will include advocate stories highlighting gaps in the communities’ current response and presentations on innovative solutions that address system gaps.  Presentations will be followed by time for Q&A.

For anyone unable to view the live convening, links to the archived recordings will be made available to all registrants.

This Convening is a partnership between NAMI and Treatment Advocacy Center.  Keynote speakers for this Convening include:

  • Norman Ornstein: Vice President, Matthew Harris Ornstein Memorial Foundation
  • Victor Armstrong: Chief Health Equity Officer, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services

Those who identify below as a “Peer Advocate” or “Family Advocate” will receive additional information by email regarding an Advocates Session which will occur on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 from 12-5PM EST.  The Advocates Session is specifically designed for advocates only (people living with SMI and/or their loved ones) and will feature keynote presentations, breakout discussion sessions, visioning sessions, and/or advocacy training workshops plus action planning.
