Starring Mark Ruffalo & Anne Hathaway, Dark Waters is the true David-and-Goliath story of a small West Virginia town that took on the chemical company DuPont for poisoning their drinking water with toxic chemicals known as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).

During the panel discussion, you'll hear from health advocates & experts about the movie’s connection to communities struggling with PFAS pollution & learn how you can advocate for safe drinking water & food.

About the Panelists:
The panel will be moderated by Tracy Gregoire, Healthy Children Project Director of the Learning Disabilities Association of America. Tracy coordinates LDA’s education & advocacy efforts to reduce chemical exposures that harm brain development & push for safer products, cleaner air & water for all families.

Joanne Stanton, co-founder of Buxmont Coalition for Safer Water, grew up in Warminster, Pennsylvania near two navy Superfund sites. Following her son’s cancerous brain tumor diagnosis, she became an activist for children’s health & advocates for chemical policy reform & enforceable PFAS drinking water standards.

Patrick Morrison leads the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Health, Safety, & Medical Division. The Division seeks to identify hazards, develop & disseminate technical materials, & provide assistance so IAFF members can control the safety, health, & medical needs of firefighters.

John Martell is a retired Firefighter Paramedic from the Portland Maine Fire Department. He is the immediate past President of PFFM & is an IAFF Service Representative.

Liz Hitchcock is Director of Safer Chemicals Healthy Families. She oversees coordinates the campaign’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill and at EPA and other federal agencies.
