All young people need to learn how to take charge of their own lives as they approach the end of high school. For students with disabilities, IEP meetings can be a great place to practice this skill. By helping to create and implement their IEPs, students become take greater ownership over their learning and are then more likely to achieve their educational goals. Transition Consultant Heidi Wyman talks more about how students can participate more fully in setting their own goals for life after high school.
