The New Hampshire Public Defender is a private, nonprofit corporation created to provide NH with a cost-effective means of providing high-quality, reliable representation to indigent defendants. The Program’s attorneys serve clients facing criminal and delinquency prosecution who cannot afford to retain private counsel. 603 Legal Aid is a private, nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services to eligible, low-income people in New Hampshire. Their attorneys and paralegals give legal advice about the following: housing, benefits, civil rights, family law, domestic violence, tax issues, and criminal record annulments. 603 Legal Aid provides many services, including referrals to private attorney volunteers. Clients information is kept confidential.

The state agency established by RSA 354-A is to eliminate discrimination in employment, public accommodations, and the sale or rental of housing or commercial property because of age, sex, sexual orientation, race, creed, color, marital status, familial status, physical or mental disability, or national origin. The commission can receive, investigate, and pass upon complaints of illegal discrimination and engage in research and education designed to promote goodwill and prevent discrimination.
